Councillors are set to discuss the new master plan set to radically transform the Alton estate in Roehampton.
The council is investing £100m on updating the Alton, York Road and Winstanley estates.
A preferred option for the Alton neighbourhood has been put to consultation, with a major focus on creating employment opportunities.
It follows an earlier consultation when residents gave their views on what they wanted to see in their community.
The proposals include revitalising Danebury Avenue and the town centre, creating a new park as well as higher quality homes.
Councillor Ravi Govindia, leader of the council, said: "There will be some upheaval while we replace existing homes with new properties on the estate so it is important that local people examine these ideas and tell us what they think.
"The preferred option is not a fixed plan and residents can influence the design and development approach. We are listening very carefully to what local people have to say.
"Housing, employment, health and the quality of the local environment are connected issues which contribute to a community’s well-being.
"In Roehampton we are working very hard to improve all of these elements so local people have the best possible chance of reaching their potential."
The proposals will be discussed at the housing and overview and scrutiny committee meeting on February 25.
