THERE was never a dull moment for day patients at Cowley Road Hospital in Oxford.
Plenty of activities were on offer to keep them busy.
The picture with this story, taken in 1972, shows four women displaying their skills in the cookery class – left to right, Dorothy Stopps, Margaret Mills, Hilda Taylor and Annie Atkins.
The hospital, formerly the Oxford Workhouse, closed in 1981 after serving the Oxford community for more than 100 years.
