The Rocky Horror Show’s 40th anniversary tour will be time warping into Wimbledon this month bringing with it a whirlwind of outrageously flirtatious fun, writes Lauren May.
The legendary musical first opened at the Royal Court Theatre in June in 1973, and remade into a film in 1975, has since become one of the UK’s most popular rock n’ roll musicals.
Relive the tale of Brad and fiancée Janet who stumble upon the mad cap mansion of Dr Frank’n’Furter when their car breaks down.
Dance along to well known sing a long classics "Science Fiction/Double Feature", "Dammit Janet" and, of course, the timeless floor-filler, "The Time-Warp".
Fancy dress is encouraged for this anniversary production performance at the New Wimbledon Theatre.
West End star Oliver Thornton, who has appeared in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Phantom Of the Opera, Les Miserables, Chicago and Starlight Express, will star as Frank ‘n’ Furter while former X-Factor contestant Rhydian will star as Rocky.
Former Emmerdale and Waterloo Road actress Roxanne Pallett will star as Janet and Ben Forster, who won the ITV1 series Superstar and went on to play the lead in Jesus Christ Superstar, will star as Brad.
