The Thai treats of a historic Ewell pub which closed down in the summer to the disappointment of residents can now be enjoyed at a nearby watering hole.
The Thai restaurant which was part of the Organ and Dragon pub, in London Road, Ewell, shut down in July.
While KFC is appealing the decision of Epsom and Ewell Council to reject its plans to convert the 18th Century pub into a fast food chain and restaurant, the Queen Adelaide and Dragon has opened to provide "a new and exciting Thai dining experience" in Kingston Road, Ewell.
The Adelaide and Dragon, which was renovated in October, now serves Thai cuisine, as well as its own pub food.
Josephine Baker, one of the Epsom Guardian's Young Reporters, who is a student at Nonsuch High School for Girls, attended the re-branded pub’s launch night.
She wrote: "The lavish and detailed décor gives the vibe of a true Thai dining experience yet still manages to combine the new restaurant with a very warm pub feeling.
"The front of the restaurant is also very authentic with a ‘put put’ truck out on the forecourt.
"From the outside to the inside, the new restaurant has successfully managed to re-open as a beautiful Thai dining experience with the key elements of a British pub too.
"The food is delicious and the menu has a wide variety of both types of cuisine."
