Young artist Greta Goodman's painting to go on show at Mall Galleries

A young artist is delighted that her painting will go on show at a gallery in London next month.
Greta Goodman, 19, a former student at Rosebery School in Epsom, was selected as a finalist in a national competition for A-level art students.
As a result her oil painting of woodland will be shown by the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) at an exhibition in the Mall Galleries from March 6 to 17.
Ms Goodman said: "Living in Surrey, I am always surrounded by its beautiful woodland.
"I'm part of it rather than being an onlooker. I'm so pleased that renowned artists saw and believed in my representation of this scene.
"This RBA recognition is a real encouragement for me."
Twenty works from 465 submitted from around the country are now being considered for the John Ingram Memorial Prize.
Penny Rundle, head of art at Rosebery School, said: "Greta is a very deserving candidate who produced an outstanding painting through sheer hard work."
Jenny Power, youth arts secretary for Epsom Decorative & Fine Arts Society which selected works at the first stage, said: "We found the standard of Greta's draughtsmanship exceptional."
