Forget central London, New York, or Los Angeles – Mitcham was the place to see a film crew on location this week.
Comedian Steve Coogan’s upcoming film, The Alan Partridge Movie, was being filmed in Cricket Green on Monday and Tuesday, where there was a mob of cameras and police officers.
The crew is filming in Mitcham for about a month and were first spotted two weeks ago at Brook House, the other side of London Road from Vestry Hall.
They will also be filming in private businesses and residential properties.
The film is expected to be released in August and is also expected to feature a cameo from former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham.
