Easter fun with Elmbridge's Shout
9:22am Thursday 7th March 2013 in Freetime By Laura Proto
Fun times: The Shout programme never fails to entertain
Budding young performers will get more than a chocolate treat this Easter as Shout! provides a range of activities for spring holidays.
Professional actors, dancers and musicians have teamed up with Shout! to bring children some fun and exciting workshops to develop their performing skills.
Whether they like music, dancing or acting and see themselves as the next Justin Bieber or Bella Thorne, or if they even fancy being behind the camera, they are guaranteed to have a great time during the school holiday.
If they have a rhythm and want to make a racket, the drumming day on Wednesday, April 3 will suit them perfectly. Children will have the opportunity to practise a piece of original music and beat the rhythm out on traditional djembe drums.
If they have what it takes to pop it, lock it and learn some cool street dance moves, then the dance day on Monday, April 8, will certainly keep children on their toes.
Friends and family will be treated to a performance at 4pm.
For would-be comedians, there is a chance to make a comedy movie in a day on Tuesday, April 9, with a professional actor.
If your children think they are funny, it is their chance to show off their skills and put their act on film to keep and show their friends.
Drama queens and kings will also have the chance to learn and rehearse three different stories in one day.
The three plays in a day challenge will take place on Thursday, April 11, with the morning focused on getting in to character and rehearsing before show time in the afternoon.
Councillor Jan Fuller, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: “These workshops have been specifically designed for children who love to have fun on stage and performing.
“They will have a fantastic time and it will be so exciting to see them on stage for a great performance in the afternoon.”
