Bankers and lawyers can ditch their suits for boxing gloves at a new "white collar" boxing club.

The club, Fight Knights, was set up by a married couple from Sutton, Dean, 36, and Sarah Knight, 26, and opened this January.

White collar boxing emerged in New York in the mid-1990’s and has now spread to cities all over the world.

White collar boxing is similar to amateur boxing however they use 16oz gloves rather than 10oz.

The age limit with amateur boxing is 34 however there is no age limit with white collar boxing.

Anyone over 18 can take part whatever their ability.

Mr Knight is the main coach and Mrs Knight who was an amateur boxer is planning to take women’s classes on Saturdays.

Mrs Knight says: "It’s always been our dream.

"White collar boxing is really new and it’s getting really popular.

"We do classes at 6.30pm and you can come to the class or do your own thing if you are experienced."

Mr Knight says that they will always go through the basics with people and they will teach people how to defend themselves.

He says: "We don’t rush - we progress slowly.

"We always try to vary the sessions."

Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday are set aside for skills and fitness; Tuesdays and Thursday are for skills and sparring.

They couple are also thinking about doing "boxercise" for mums during the week.

On March 24, they are holding a charity boxing show for Momentum, a children’s charity which supports children with cancer.

Fight Knights, Thomas Wall Pavilion, Thomas Wall Park, Green Lane, Morden, Mon-Fri, 6pm-9pm, 18+, £5 per session, £40 per month, 07889244918, fightknights.co.uk.
