Theatre graduate to make his West End debut
3:22pm Thursday 30th August 2012 in Freetime
Rob Eyles
A musical theatre graduate is making his West End debut in a production for rising stars next month.
Rob Eyles, 21, from Streatham, will sing in New Talent Spotlight’s latest show at Leicester Square Theatre on September 23.
The project to find and develop emerging performers is putting on, From Stage to Screen... And Back Again’, in aid of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability in Putney.
Mr Eyles said: "It’s very exciting. It’s good it happened so quickly and it’s great to be given this opportunity."
He recently graduated from The Guildford School of Acting and plans to keep auditioning for other parts after the show.
Mr Eyles said his passion for musicals began when he took on the lead role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at school.
He said: "It was the only thing I ever had a passion for and I thought why not pursue it."
Russell Scott, who runs New Talent Spotlight, said they were covering over 35 hits from musicals and films in its first West End show.
Mr Scott said: "This time we are going to the West End. "I am just delighted to give these people the opportunity."
The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability is dedicated to rehabilitation and care of people with acquired brain injury or neuro-degenerative disease.
The production, on September 23, starts at 7.30pm.
