Triple bill of up-and-coming folk musicians from Ireland and Scotland

A triple bill of up-and-coming folk musicians are performing this month, who all have roots in Scotland and Ireland.

Kris Drever is the son of singer-songwriter Ivan Drever - former lead singer of Wolfstone.

The musician confesses to spending his adolescence listening to Metallica and Pantera, while learning the guitar and ruining other people's sessions at the Orkney Folk Festival.

At the age of 17 he left for the mainland to find himself being pulled towards Edinburgh's burgeoning session scene.

Kris soon found himself playing regular slots at The Tron Ceilidh House, which the place to be for musicians of all genres back in the 1990s.

By 2011 he was nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Best Folk Singer, having fast built up a name for himself.

Support comes in the form of renowned banjo player Éamonn Coyne.

Coyne's music builds a musical bridge between the Irish sounds of his upbringing and his more international influences.

Début solo album Through the Round Window reflects his vast musical imagination, while his ingrained heritage still shines through.

Also supporting is Megan Henderson who hails from Fort William in Lochaber.

She first began playing the violin aged four and can also sing and play the piano and the accordion.
