Croydon comedy show is pure Treason

The Treason Show will be bringing a whole lot of laughter to Fairfield Halls in its debut performance in Croydon.

Based at the Pavilion Theatre Dome in Brighton, the show is a slick satirical sketch show that pokes fun at celebrities, current affairs and politics.

Director and founder Mark Brailsford, a Bafta nominated artist in 2004, received rave reviews for his portrayal of Tony Hancock in The Lad Himself at the Edinburgh Festival.

He says: “If you can imagine a cross between Not the Nine O’Clock News, Spitting Image and Radio 4’s The Now Show, and add to that a dozen brilliantly written parody songs, then that is The Treason Show.”

Since its debut back in June 2000 the show continues to blow the audience away with its laugh out loud antics.

No one escapes the sharp wit, whether it is the Prime Minister, Wayne Rooney or Abu Qatada. Unlike most shows,

The Treason Show deliberately sets its ticket prices low so that it can get a good crowd for gigs.

Brailsford says: “We are trying to reach an audience who are hardest hit, especially with all the negative stuff that is going on in the news.

“We are here to cheer everyone up.

“People need a good laugh – if you don’t laugh you’ll cry.”
