Lights, Camera, Action! Blockbuster numbers from song and dance Hollywood movies will celebrate an extraordinary milestone for a local charity at a benefit evening next Saturday.

The night at the Epsom Playhouse is the culmination of the 75th anniversary celebrations for the Epsom and Ewell Citizens Advice Bureau.

Radio 4 and Radio 5’s legendary sports presenter Garry Richardson who regularly appears on the Today programme and who has also interviewed Nelson Mandela and Bill Clinton, will serve as compere for the evening.

He is also an accomplished after dinner speaker, as well as being a music lover.

Garry Richardson said: "I'm thrilled to be the compere for what I'm sure will be a wonderful night. There are some fantastic film themes being featured.

"There really is something for everyone from my own favourites like the King and I to Oklahoma and the Bond Themes. I can promise you fantastic night."

The performers for the night are predominately from the Epsom Light Opera Company, an award winning local amateur operatic society which produces shows for the Playhouse twice a year.

The CAB is hoping that hundreds of people will come along to support the charity which has helped thousands of local people over the years and help raise thousands of pounds to support the work of its 80 volunteers.

Charlotte Dixon, chair of trustees, said: "We are very proud of our record in offering the Epsom and Ewell community free, independent, confidential and impartial advice for 75 years, and this show will be a wonderful way of celebrating that.

"Many people do not realise that the CAB is a charity which is wholly dependent on local funding and donations.

"All the proceeds of the evening’s entertainment will be used to support our vital work in helping our neighbours through difficult times."
