Crowds have gathered as news spread that Rory Kinnear is among those filming a BBC Two comedy in Wimbledon today.

Eagle-eyed members of the public may have seen the Othello actor and writer Steve Delaney at Wimbledon Books in High Street, Wimbledon Village this morning, and around the area this afternoon.

Mr Kinnear and Mr Delaney, who plays Count Arthur Strong in a comedy series of the same name, are today in front of members of the public keen to catch a glimpse of their favourite characters.

They are said to be in the Light Cafe in the High Street this afternoon and filming in the garden at a private residence nearby.

Philip Hunter, manager at Wimbledon Books said: "We had Rory Kinnear here all day.

"I am merely the bookshop owner; I didn’t get to speak to him.

"I didn’t want to interfere anyway."

Mr Hunter closed the shop so filming could take place from 7am to 12pm on Tuesday, May 20.

He said the crew was filming at Wimbledon Studios and wanted to do some shots on location as well.

Count Arthur Strong is a comedy directed by IT Crowd’s Graham Linehan.

The second series sees a character called Michael return to Bulent’s cafe, and the chaotic world of Arthur Strong.
