Two Streatham eateries are competing for the Favourite Business category at the Lambeth Business Awards on March 22.

Spanish restaurant Bar 61, in Streatham Hill, won the award last year and is hoping for a repeat of its success. It will be up against neighbouring White Lion, a live music bar and hostel run by a music charity.

Owner of Bar 61 Metin Ahmet said of the awards: “[Winning again] will enhance our recognition and reputation. It will be the real stamp of approval from our community. Good luck to everyone though, whoever wins is the people’s and panels choice.”

The Lambeth Business Awards feature the best businesses of the borough across 12 categories. Think Tall Films’ a Clapham-based video arts company, is nominated in four different categories, including best small business.

The awards will be held at the Kia Oval cricket ground, in Kennington on March 22. Tickets for the dinner and ceremony are available at lambethbusinessawards.co.uk.
