A Mortlake rocker is on the cusp of big things after a whirlwind year.
Singer-songwriter Jamie Skinner, 20, has won fans for his Youtube cover of 5 Seconds of Summer and bagged a high-profile support slot for a big US band.
Jamie said: “I was asked to support a big band from the US called ‘Hey Violet’ at their headline show in London which sparked off a summer full of gigs, writing and recording sessions.
“I’ve released a double single that received a great reaction, and was named by Sugarscape Magazine as having one of the best covers on the net.”

Jamie is a big fan of grunge-rock band Green Day, having seen them play 15 times in the last seven years, and Blink 182 and The 1975.
He said: “I started playing guitar aged seven, at 11 I began learning rock and pop songs and things have gone from strength to strength since then really.”
This year, Jamie is forming a new band and writing new music, as well as planning as many gigs as possible.
For his next big show Jamie and his new band will be headlining at The Garage in Highbury and Islington, on February 17.
