Ben Haenow's fans woke up to some good news this morning: Croydon's X Factor hero has announced a homecoming show.

The winner of the the 2014 series will call at Fairfield Halls during a 16-date UK tour in April.

The Shirley singer is sure to receive a rapturous reception from the "Haeniacs" at the Croydon show on Tuesday, April 19.

Haenow said: "I literally cannot wait to get out there and see you guys on tour.

"Performing live is what I love and what I have been looking forward to the most. I promise it will be a show to remember."

Tickets for his first headline tour will go on sale on November 6 at 9am following a pre-sale on November 4.

Haenow's single Second Hand Heart, a collaboration with Kelly Clarkson, entered the UK charts at a disappointing number 21 on Sunday.

His self-titled album will be released on November 13.

X Factor kingpin Simon Cowell told Brit School pupils about Haenow's album during a visit last month.

He said: ""We’ve taken our time on Ben’s record and Fleur [East]'s record intentionally. Because you can’t make a good record in five minutes.

"So I’ve started to read a lot of stuff recently, you know people saying where have they gone, this is an example that no one can do well on these shows, and I’m thinking yeah, wait till you hear their records because I’ve already heard them."
