Si Cranstoun, one half of busking Croydon brothers The Dualers, is bringing his solo show to Fairfield Halls on Friday.

The singer has formed his own doo wop band with an upright bass and a baritone sax that will pay homage to his childhood heroes, Sam Cooke and Jackie Wilson.

He is also hoping to have his first solo album, Skinny Jeans, out soon.

Speaking to us in May, Si said: "It's the music that influenced me which was retro doo wop and we get people jiving and doing all sorts of dancing at the gigs, which is great.

"The Ashcroft Theatre will be really challenging as it's my first big concert."

Despite branching out from his busking routes with brother Tyber, the lone venture does not mean the end of The Dualers, having played at the Indigo2 last month and Tyber currently producing a new album.
