Following on from the success of last year’s inaugural effort, the Purley Festival is to return.
A week of fun in the sun is planned as Purley hosts its own mini-Glastonbury, showcasing the area’s best musical talent.
Running from June 25 to July 1 the event will encompass entertainment, workshops and family fun at a variety of venues culminating in a finale weekend at Rotary Fields.
During the first five days festival organisers plan to arrange music concerts, exhibitions and author’s talks and anyone interested in taking part is encouraged to get involved.
Fundraising events are also planned in the build-up with a swimathon, dinner club and 24-hour music event already collecting £5,000.
The finale, held on both days will see Rotary Fields lined with more than 50 stalls, a central stage dedicated to the best acts from the area and even a sponsored hot air balloon.
