So Ross Kemp might be returning to EastEnders. But is there room for him now that TV tough guy Danny Dyer is installed behind the bar at the Queen Vic.
We wondered who would win in a fight between Danny Dyer and Ross Kemp?
Ruling the roost
When Ross’s character Grant Mitchell was landlord of the Queen Vic, no one messed with him and his brother Phil.
But last Christmas Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) strolled into Albert Square and bought the pub from him, and he soon had everyone’s respect.
Keeping it real
Both actors have presented documentaries where they met real life gangsters.
But Danny Dyer’s Deadliest Men – which often saw him admitting how scared he was of the people he met – has bitten the dust.
Meanwhile, Ross Kemp has braved was zones, met militia and is still travelling the globe for his latest series Extreme World.
Party animal
Danny seems to like a drink.
While Ross sips on water.
Fighting on screen
Grant Mitchell was always getting into fisticuffs – and winning – in EastEnders. But his most famous punch up was with brother Phil when he found out he had slept with his wife Sharon.
Mick Carter has certainly proved you don’t want to mess with him since he arrived in Albert Square. Here he is punching Dean Wicks for insulting Shirley.
Imagine what he’ll do when he finds out Dean raped his wife.
Fighting off screen
But in real life Danny isn’t so good in a fight. Here he is being hit by one of his deadliest men Mo Teague. And he’s a bit wimpy about it…
Meanwhile, when the men showing Ross Kemp through the wilderness for his show Extreme World suddenly turned their guns on him – he just laughs and pushes the barrel out of his face.
Not afraid to camp it up
In Danny’s first day as Mick Carter on EastEnders he showed he was in touch with his feminine side by wearing wife Linda’s pink frilly dressing gown. He has since worn a wig to be Posh Spice in a Queen Vic karaoke competition.
Ross has no fear of losing his hardman image and has been happy to send himself up many a time. Here is on the Friday Night Project.
Sorry Danny, but as much as we love you, we think you might be all talk and no trousers. Ross wins.
