Boyhood, a film 12 years in the making, triumphed at the Golden Globes, with cast and crew collecting the award for best picture, drama.

Directed by Richard Linklater, the movie follows the life of one boy, played by sensitive newcomer Ellar Coltrane. It was filmed over 12 years, a much-acclaimed feat that provides a unique perspective on the evolution of a family.

At the 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards in California, Linklater received best director for the movie while Patricia Arquette won best supporting actress for her role on the same film.
