Simon Cowell was greeted by fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams playing the bagpipes as auditions for this year’s show got under way in Edinburgh.

Dressed in a kilt, Walliams was the first judge to arrive at the city’s Festival Theatre where he met fans, posed for selfie photographs and signed autographs.

But there was only person brave enough to take a peep under the kilt.

Yep, Simon Cowell himself. While we still don’t know what was underneath, we do know who was behind the look.

Cowell smiled and waved as his car pulled up to the theatre before jokingly pulling at Walliams’s kilt as hundreds of fans of the show let out a big cheer.

Walliams later delighted the crowds who were waiting in freezing temperatures when he emerged back outside with a set of bagpipes, followed by a pipe band.

Fellow panellist Amanda Holden arrived wearing an off-the-shoulder, long-sleeved red dress.

And Alesha Dixon opted for a strapless black dress with a thigh-high split.

Once inside, the quartet began their job of seeking out contestants for this year’s series which returns in the spring, with Ant and Dec to be hosts of the ITV show once again. Stephen Mulhern will return to host the spin-off show, Britain’s Got More Talent.

Holden, Dixon and Walliams last week confirmed they had signed up once again to join Cowell as judges.

It means the show will have had the same panel for four years, with Dixon and Walliams joining in 2012, while Cowell and Holden have been with the show since it launched in 2007.

Last year’s series was won by singing group Collabro.
