It was always in her genes really – with Christie Brinkley as her mum. And now Alexa Ray Joel has made her modelling debut on the New York Fashion Week catwalk.
The singer-songwriter daughter of Billy Joel was all smiles as she sauntered down the runway showing off the Go Red For Women Red Dress collection, which was to benefit women’s heart health.
Alexa, 29, stood out among the other celebs and models in a fringed Tamara Mellon dress, skyscraper heels and gold cuffs. She took part in the show to honour her grandmother who died in 2012 after suffering from a heart attack.
Other celebs who took part in the show included Orange Is The New Black actresses Laverne Cox and Dascha Polanco.
Girl group Fifth Harmony also made an appearance on the runway in their red frocks.
