David Hasselhoff will be battling dangerous waters once again – this time as one of the stars of Sharknado 3.

The Baywatch actor has been announced as the latest name to sign up to the cast of the third instalment of the satirical disaster movie series which sees a shoal of terrifying sharks go on the attack after getting caught up in freak weather systems.

Sharknado is set to return for a third TV movie and this time it will feature David as lead character Fin Shepard’s (Ian Ziering) father as the cast take on another shark attack, according to Syfy who air the films.

The cast will again star Tara Reid as Fin’s ex-wife April Wexler and Cassie Scerbo will return in her role as bartender Nova from Sharknado 2.

New additions to the cast for the upcoming film have been announced as Mark Cuban and Ann Coulter.

Other famous faces who have cropped up in previous instalments of Sharknado have included Kelly Osbourne, Billy Ray Cyrus and Perez Hilton.

Sharknado 2: The Second One premiered on Syfy last summer and was watched by more than 3.9 million people in its first screening, up 183 per cent on viewers for the original TV film.
