Forget the food on the penultimate round of the MasterChef final (although it’s fairly hard to forget “stinging nettle tortelloni”). But tonight wasn’t about food for the viewers. No, it was about FASHION – specifically John Torode’s dungarees-cum-apron.
Here are 18 things the folks on Twitter though John’s weird kitchen fashion looked like.
1. Dungarees
2. A welder’s gown
3. Or a blacksmith’s gown
4. Just a general handyman’s apron?
5. Something far too functional for its own good
6. A Minions costume (you know, off the kids’ film?)
7. A Bob the Builder costume (you know, from the kids’ TV show?)
8. A Thomas the Tank Engine costume (you know, from that older kids’ TV show?)
9. A Super Mario costume (you know, from the kids’ video game)
…okay, so Mario ain’t just for kids.
10. His line-dancing outfit
11. His 80s disco tribute act outfit
12. The ultimate in hipster kitchenware
13. A movie torturer’s attire of choice
14. Something a bit… fetishy
15. A bold new fashion fusion
16. The result of a bet gone bad
17. A social media star in the making
18. Something that wasn’t in our lives long enough…
In the end actor Scott Maslen went home (the bloke who played Jack on EastEnders), leaving Kimberly Wyatt, Sam Nixon, and Rylan Clark in the last three.
But no one really cared, because we were all too fascinated by THAT apron.
