Dragons’ Den contestants don’t have it easy, standing in front of the intimidating investors as they pick apart their business plans.
And it all got a bit too much for young entrepreneur Amy Wordsworth on last night’s show as she nearly fainted when Deborah Meaden told her: “I’m not being funny Amy but you have no business at the moment.”
Amy – who was asking for a £60,000 investment in return for a 15 per cent share in her children’s bubble bath range – put her hands to her head and replied: “Sorry, I’ve just gone quite light-headed.”
Concerned Dragons Sarah Willingham and Touker Suleyman rushed to help her, offering her support and a glass of water and Touker even dragged over his chair for her to sit down.
Deborah, who had been unimpressed to hear Amy had only made £3,500 profit since January after placing her product, joked: “What have I done to you?”
But events changed for the better with Deborah offering her £60,000 for a 40 per cent share in her business and Amy accepted.
