Boy George may have just signed up to fill Sir Tom Jones’ chair on The Voice, but the music star has previously branded the BBC show’s singing battles as “pointless”.
Tweets sent by the Culture Club star back in 2013 direct to The Voice’s official Twitter account reveal he branded the show as being all about drama and not about singing.
There has already been controversy over the announcement that Boy George and Paloma Faith would be replacing the Delilah singer and Rita Ora on The Voice after Sir Tom, 75, accused the BBC of “sub-standard behaviour” claiming he was axed “with no consultation or conversation of any kind”.
Boy George has since took to Twitter to share his admiration for Sir Tom.
The new coaches join the show alongside Will.i.am and Ricky Wilson for the fifth series of the BBC One competition.
