JK Simmons has hailed his co-star Susan Sarandon in their new movie The Meddler, admitting he is a big fan of her work.
The Thelma And Louise star plays a New York widow who moves to Los Angeles to live with her daughter in the hope of starting a new life.
JK said: “She’s such a sweet meddler. Her motives are completely pure and it all comes from love.
“It was brilliant working with her, I’d only met her briefly once before, and I was a fan of her for many years.”
The Meddler was written and directed by Lorene Scafaria, who revealed the story was inspired by her own mother, but she ended up writing what she hoped would come true for her mum.
Lorene said: “It’s weirdly very, very personal, and there’s a lot of fiction in it. JK’s character is completely fictional.
“It’s kind of my wish fulfilment for my mother – we got her out there, we gave her some adventure, she meets someone like JK Simmons.”
