Fifth Harmony are in the UK as part of their Reflection tour.
Ally Brooke Hernandez, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello and Lauren Jauregui will be playing London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Tuesday and Manchester’s O2 Ritz the following day before heading to Germany.
Chatting about the shows, Ally said: “We’re really excited to be bringing our tour to the UK. It’s going to be crazy!”
Now that One Direction are taking a break for at least a year, the music world is looking for a new favourite pop band and there’s no reason why it can’t be Fifth Harmony, aka 5H.
In fact, there are five reasons why it could be Fifth Harmony.
1. Simon Cowell believes in them
Fifth Harmony were formed during the 2012 run of The X Factor USA. All five members auditioned as solo artists, but Simon felt the girls were stronger as a group.
After finishing in third place, he signed them to Syco. If this story sounds familiar it’s because it’s exactly what happened to One Direction. And we all know what happened to them, don’t we?
2. Each member can sing
Ally, Normani, Dinah-Jane, Camila and Lauren can all belt out a tune. There are no worries on that score.
3. Harmonisers in the house!
Fifth Harmony’s dedicated army of fans are known as Harmonisers. Like One Direction’s Directioners, they are obsessed with their band.
It explains why Sony Music Entertainment signed big merchandise licensing deals for the group before they’d even released debut album Reflection.
4. They can dance
One Direction have always been upfront about the lack of choreography and dance moves in their videos and concerts. “We can’t dance,” said Liam Payne.
While it didn’t stop the boys from global domination, it’s a different story with Fifth Harmony. These girls have no problem moving on the beat.
5. They’re picking up awards everywhere
Among their haul is an MTV Video Music Award for Artist to Watch in 2014 (for Miss Movin’ On) and an MTV Europe Music Award for Best US Act in the same year.
5H confirmed their place as teen favourites with numerous Teen Choice Awards and Kids’ Choice Awards.
Reflection has solidified Fifth Harmony’s standing in the pop world – can they go even further?
