TV show Horrible Histories could be set for awards success at the Bafta Children’s Awards.

The light-hearted yet gruesome history show has three nominations – its special Magna Carta episode picked up nods in both the comedy and writing categories, while actress Jessica Ransom was named in the performer category for her portrayal of Mary, Queen of Scots.

The awards will take place at the Roundhouse in Camden and will be hosted for the second time by actor, rapper, comedian and screenwriter Ben “Doc Brown” Smith.

Cesc Fabregas, Jeff Brazier, Mark Little, Katy Hill, Kimberley Wyatt, Floella Benjamin, Hugh Dennis, Keith Chegwin, Denise Van Outen, Jen Pringle and Derek Moran are among those who will announce the awards.
