Strictly Come Dancing 2016 is drawing to a close as the remaining contestants get ready to compete in the show’s semi-final tonight.

The last four celebrities – including gymnast Claudia Fragapane, presenter Ore Oduba, actor Danny Mac and singer Louise Redknapp – will battle it out in the penultimate leg of the competition, performing two dances each.

Still holding a strong position at the top of the judges’ leaderboard, Danny and partner Oti Mabuse will dance a salsa to Marc Anthony’s Vivir Mi Vida, and the American Smooth to Dorothy Moore’s Misty Blue.

Youngest competitor Claudia, 19, and partner AJ Pritchard will perform a rumba to Leona Lewis’s hit Bleeding Love and the quickstep to Andy Williams’s When You’re Smiling.

Ore and Joanne Clifton will take on the show’s favourite Argentine Tango to Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, as well as another quickstep, this time to Are You Gonna Be My Girl? by Jet.

The Latin dance theme will continue as Louise and Kevin Clifton perform a samba to the classic Brazil, by Thiago Thome, and a tango to Glad All Over, by the Dave Clark Five.

But as the series final looms, it will not just mark the end of the road for this year’s dancers.

Lead judge and professional dancer Len Goodman will be casting his last votes after recently announcing his retirement from the show.

In the last few days, both Anton Du Beke and Brendan Cole have been tipped to fill Len’s dancing shoes – with Brendan admitting he would “love” to take the job.

The last few few weeks of the competition have seen both television’s Judge Rinder and former shadow chancellor Ed Balls eliminated from the competition, in what even the show’s live singers have called “the best” series so far.

The semi-final of Strictly Come Dancing will be broadcast at 6.50pm on Saturday, on BBC One.
