We thought that Take That on a musical roadtrip with James Corden was one of the best things we were going to see on Red Nose Day (apart from the Love Actually sequel, obviously)… but we were wrong.

Part two of the special Carpool Karaoke episode saw the boys FINALLY try to take over the US by singing to unsuspecting people in the streets – and even in shops.

Acting as their new and very hands-on agent, James drove the trio around Los Angeles, introducing them to passers-by and handing out their CDs.

Asked if they ever wanted to make it in the US, Gary Barlow said the band once had a meeting with members of their record label’s New York outpost, who pitched them a lengthy strategy to break into the American market.

His words were met by silence until Howard Donald said: “I can’t be arsed.”

However, Mark Owen added: “I wanted us to, I would have gone for it,” prompting James to take the musicians out on to the streets to serenade pedestrians with hits such as It Only Takes A Minute Girl, Do What You Like and A Million Love Songs before taking them into a sunglasses shop for an impromptu performance of Pray, complete with choreography.

We’re right behind you, guys!
