Miranda Hart has teased fans with details of her upcoming Christmas specials.
The comedy actress has previously called an end to her self-titled sitcom Miranda, having said she wants to go out on a high. The last episodes will air on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Speaking to TV Guide UK, Miranda said: “We follow on from where we left Miranda at the end of Series 3, so it’s not set at Christmas, but it’s festive by nature rather than by trees and baubles.”
She added: “Miranda has big decisions to make and I hope people will think she makes the right one for her to be happy and healthy.”
Miranda has previously promised that the main cast of characters, including Patricia Hodge as her mother, Sarah Hadland as her co-worker Stevie, and Tom Ellis as her love interest Gary, will all feature in the final episodes.
As for her future, the 41-year-old actress revealed that she doesn’t know what she’s doing yet. “I need some time off to think about it,” she explained.
“I hope I get involved in the next big studio sitcom – I would love a hand in that, whether I create it, or have a bit part in it, or whatever. It’s a genre I am passionate about.”
She also revealed more unfulfilled ambitions: “Theatre, West End, drama roles, working with Meryl Streep! Learning to ride a horse.”
The two Miranda special episodes will air on December 25 at 19.15 and January 1 at 20.00 on BBC One.
