Tomorrow will be Good Morning Britain’s first birthday!

From the weird and wonderful to Susanna Reid’s sultry gaze at the prime minister, you may never know what to expect from the breakfast show, but you can guarantee it will be memorable.

In honour of the occasion we have rounded up our favourite moments from the show so far:

1. When Susanna met David

When Susanna Reid interviewed David Cameron in Downing Street they chatted about his children and why David loves the Shaun the Sheep movie, as you do. Aside from her fit of giggles, the most memorable part was the infamous and flirtatious pen biting that really got the nation talking.

2. When Piers Morgan channelled his inner Lorraine Kelly

Piers Morgan might not be the most natural fit on the Good Morning Britain sofa, but he didn’t let that faze him when he did a stint as a guest presenter. He even tried to imitate one of the nation’s best-loved presenters.

Sadly, it didn’t work out too well as she immediately called his impression out as “rubbish” and, to be fair, Piers, it is more Mickey Mouse than Lorraine Kelly, but it was a nice try. Actually, it’s not that different from his impression of Katherine Jenkins singing – seems like high-pitched female voices are not his forte.

3. When Susanna wore glasses and it gripped the nation

Poor Susanna had to ditch her contacts as she was suffering from an eye infection and said that it was “distractingly sore”.

But as the resulting Twitter storm proved, fans didn’t care about her puffy eyes, as they found her even more attractive in her tortoiseshell specs.

4. Susanna’s Wardrobe Malfunction

That same week, Susanna had to run off stage after the back of her dress split open during the news bulletin.

Kate Garraway was left to explain that Susanna had to temporarily leave the studio, but she came back moments later in an almost identical dress explaining that the wardrobe department had tried to sew her dress together, but the back of it had “completely split open.”

She laughed it off and later tweeted saying she was just having “one of those weeks”.

5. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Ben Shephard and Susanna bravely took on the ice bucket challenge in a smart suit and glamorous summer dress.

Ben took it stoically and remained fairly calm, but Susanna screamed and flapped her arms with the shock. She quickly recovered and said that it was actually “quite refreshing”.

6. Kate Garraway cringing as her phone goes off

Kate blamed her phone ringing during the show on still being on holiday. She apologised profusely but Piers reassured her by saying, “This is fantastic”.

7. Susanna Reid’s science experiment that went wrong

When trying to prove a point to Gavin Partington from the British Soft Drinks Association, Susanna thought it best to demonstrate her point about taxing sugary drinks by pouring sugar into a glass of coke.

She said: “Do you think this much sugar in a can of cola is a good thing?” As she poured she immediately regretted it when the drink fizzed and frothed all over her dress. She shrieked, “I forgot about the physics of pouring the sugar into the coke!”.

8. Susanna’s awkward innuendo with Downton hunk Dan

In an interview with Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens, Susanna’s question led to a fit of giggles as she said, “You must have had to beat off a lot of American men to get this part?”.

She didn’t immediately work out what he found so amusing but luckily fellow presenter Ben Shephard was on hand to rephrase the question and restore calm in the studio.

9. When they boosted everyone’s selfie-esteem

In a bid to help viewers become more confident and feel beautiful, Good Morning Britain launched their #SelfieEsteem campaign encouraging everyone to post a selfie with no filter on. You were still allowed to wear make-up and the campaign received celebrity support and participation from Lorraine Kelly, Jamelia, Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid herself.

10. When Susanna got the giggles about ‘brain fade’

After playing an excruciatingly awkward audio clip of Green Party leader Natalie Bennett getting ‘brain fade’ during a radio interview and completely forgetting her words, Ben read out readers’ experiences of brain fade. One example that made Susanna giggle was a father trying to give a speech at a wedding, forgetting his words and saying, “Merry Christmas!”.

11. When Richard attempted to do Blue Steel

Entertainment presenter Richard Arnold attempted to do Zoolander’s signature ‘Blue Steel’ pose and styled it out with a little strut, turn and pose.

12. When they recreated the Friends theme song

To celebrate 20 years of the popular television series Friends, all the presenters recreated the opening song from the show. With plenty of dancing, posing and umbrellas, it was an adorable and fitting tribute for the 20th anniversary.

13. Ben Shephard’s Bushtucker Trial

Poor Ben looked less than happy when he was presented with a plate of raw fish eyes on national TV. He tucked in valiantly but immediately choked and gagged. He managed to fit six in his mouth but looked a bit worse for wear and quickly spat them out into a nearby pot plant.

14. When Kate Garraway got caught mid munch

And last but not least is the awkward moment Kate was caught eating breakfast when the camera switched to her suddenly. Ben Shephard said, “I think she just had a little mouthful of peanut butter on toast”. Kate looked sheepish but then tried to pin it on news presenter Ranvir Singh by saying, “I thought she’d have more to say. You must have more to say… I blame you,” before laughing it off.

So Happy Birthday Good Morning Britain and here’s to many more years!
