Ever wondered what kind of football fans the Minions would make? Well wonder no more because a new teaser trailer featuring the cute yellow creatures – known for their love of bananas and working for super villains – has been released for the Super Bowl.

The short clip will air on US TV during Super Bowl Sunday on February 1, when American football fans will tune in for the biggest event of their sporting calendar.

The trailer pokes fun at the wild behaviour of football fans during the big game.

As the Minions go crazy in slow mo, a loud “X Factor-style” voiceover says: “You and your buddies will jump up and down for hours while screaming indecipherable nonsense like ‘eeeeeeeeh’.

“You spill 64 ounces of a really sticky fruity drink over the guy in front of you. And you will likely remove your cute blue denim overalls … and why, WHY do you do this?” After a brief moment of silence, the narrator shouts and reveals: “Because you’re a minion! Swing those pants baby.”

The spin-off movie for the Minions – who featured in Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 – will open in UK cinemas on June 26, 2015.
