The Little Shop of Horrors undeniably fed Sutton’s appetite for entertainment last week.
The Sutton Theatre Company, alongside director Mary Watkins, put on a fantastic show throughout with their no-holds-barred performance.
The leading cast, including all the original characters from the cult film: Seymour Krelborn, Mr. Mushnik, Audrey and Orin Scrivello, truly brought the stage to life in this exciting and energetic recital.
The audience were transfixed by the use of props – in particular, Audrey II.
The plant’s magnificence and grandeur both charmed and horrified the audience.
It was visible that a lot of time and energy had gone into creating the props and using them in such a realistic manner.
The liveliness on stage reflected in the crowd who clapped along with the songs in this comedy-horror musical.
This hidden gem of a play is already sadly missed.
Watch out for future performances by The Sutton Theatre Company, particularly within the Secombe Theatre.
