It was the magazine that was a must-read for teenage girls in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s and now Jackie is coming to the stage.
Former editor Nina Myskow is Editor-in-Chief and consultant for the new show which revisits the heady days before mobile phones, e-mails and apps when angst-ridden teenagers waited by the letterbox for their weekly magazine.
It tells the story of a fifty-something divorcee who revisits her stash of well-thumbed Jackie magazines for the same reason she first read them nearly forty years ago: advice on how best to navigate the opposite sex.
Full of hits from the likes of Donny Osmond, David Cassidy and Marc Bolan, Jackie the Musical comes to Bromley’s Churchill Theatre from March 22 to 26, New Wimbledon Theatre from June 7 to 11 and The Orchard Theatre, Dartford, from June 14 to 18.
