A south west London amateur dramatics group has secured the rights to the UK amateur premiere of show that was a hit on the West End and on the big screen.
Wimbledon Light Opera Society will bring Made in Dagenham to the stage in April.
The story of a strike by women at a Ford factory in the 1960s has been turned into a feel-good musical written by Richard Bean (One Man, Two Guvnors) with music by David Arnold (James Bond, Sherlock) and lyrics by Richard Thomas (Jerry Springer: The Opera).
Wimbledon Light Opera Society’s version runs from April 6 to 9 at the John McIntosh Arts Centre in Fulham and is directed by Sarah Grey. Tickets cost £17.50 adults and £15 for under 16s. Go to wlos.org.uk
