Visitors create drawing room exhibition with a twist at De Morgan Centre in Putney
7:10am Thursday 25th October 2012 in News By Alexandra Rucki
Art gallery visitors have been taking part in an exhibition with a twist by scrawling their own designs on the walls.
Staff in the De Morgan Centre, West Hill, Putney, created a Victorian-style drawing room made up of just outlines as part of the Big Draw project.
Visitors were invited to bring the room to life and fill in the designs, with the help of artists Susie Prus and Eileen Reed between October 2 and 20.
The project, funded by a Wandsworth Art Grant, encouraged visitors to draw designs while schools were invited to adorn bird cages with wire birds.
It aimed to bring communities together through art, while taking inspiration from William and Evelyn De Morgan whose work makes up the gallery.
