Murder investigation launched after 65-year-old stabbed close to Putney Bridge
A murder investigation has launched after a 65-year-old man was found with stab wounds close to Putney Bridge.
Police are appealing for witnesses after officers were called at 6.55pm to reports of an assault in Fulham High Street.
A man with stab wounds was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have arrested a 27-year-old man near the scene on suspicion of murder.
He remains in custody at a West London police station.
Detective Inspector Craig Bradley said: "I am appealing for any people who were in the area and witnessed this incident, or the events leading up to this incident, to come forward and speak to my team.
"At this early stage it is unclear what the motive for this incident was - if you saw anything, or have any information which may help the investigation, please get in contact."
