A man has died after scaffolding collapsed at a building site this morning.
Two men were also injured following the accident at Carlton Tower, Upper Richmond Road, Putney, at about 10.15am.
Three ambulance crews, London air ambulance and thirty firefighters are at the scene.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance staff.
Another man has been taken to hospital suffering with chest and abdominal injures and a third man was also sent to hospital with unspecified injuries.
It is not known yet what caused the accident at the eight-storey office building formerly occupied by Capsticks law firm, which is being developed into flats and shops.
Twitter users have taken to the social networking site since the incident took place.
Lauren Hunter wrote: "Going by the amount of police cars and ambulances that have passed our office in five minutes, something pretty bad has happened in Putney."
