New changing rooms and state-of-the-art gym equipment are just some of the ways Putney Leisure Centre has benefitted from a £400,000 refurbishment programme.

The centre’s gym has been enhanced with the introduction of new V-Plates pro vibration machines, TRX total resistance exercise equipment and Techno Gym indoor cycling bikes.

In addition, all the other cardiovascular equipment in the leisure centre’s Kinetika gym has been replaced with the latest range of Precor Fitness machinery.

Tracy McNeela, general manager of the leisure centre, said: "We are delighted with the results of our £400,000 investment.

"All the staff here are very excited about the changes and the benefits these will give our members."

The improvements at Putney are part of a wider sum of £825,000 being spent by DC Leisure, who run the centre, on improving sports and fitness facilities across the borough.

Already £74,000 has been spent on new gym equipment at the Wandle recreation centre while new equipment, flooring and other improvements have also been installed at gyms at Balham and Tooting leisure centres.
