Nominations are open for the Active Wandsworth Awards, which aim to celebrate the legacy of London 2012.

The annual awards recognise achievements of athletes, coaches, volunteers and teams in the borough.

There are nine categories including sports personality, coach of the year and outstanding contribution to sport.

There is also a mayor's award for disability sport.

Councillor Jonathan Cook, deputy leader of the council, said: "2012 has been a fantastic year for sport so it is only right that we acknowledge those who have contributed to this success in some way.

"If you know someone or a group of people based in the borough that has a sporting story that deserves to be celebrated then I would urge you to nominate them."

The deadline for entries is December 21.
