Councillors are set to discuss the next stage of a planned regeneration project for Roehampton.

Wandsworth Council announced earlier this year they planned to invest millions in improving the area.

A series of meetings took place over the summer to find out what people wanted to see changed.

The results of a consultation have been published online, with neighbours asking for traffic improvements, better transport links and new shops.

Many people wanted to see more housing, with support for the demolition of some buildings.

People were also keen to see general environment improvements and more facilities for youngsters.

The next stage of the process will see council committee members selecting a firm who will take charge of the project next week.

Councillor Ravi Govindia, leader of Wandsworth Council, said: "This is just the first step in an exciting project for residents and businesses in the area.

"We will use the feedback received so far to consider the scale of improvement work to embark on.

"Once a decision has been made, we will look to appoint a firm to help produce a masterplan for the area to set out a detailed, long-term vision for future improvement work."

Councillors will discuss the proposals at the housing overview and scrutiny committee meeting on November 14.
