A Southfields drug dealer who was caught with thousands of pounds of crack and heroin has been jailed for almost four years.

Nathan Dawkins, from Whitlock Drive, was randomly pulled over by traffic cops in Standen Road, on April 15 last year.

But as the officers approached his car the 26-year-old made a break for it tossing the packet of drugs, which contained 193 wraps, as he ran away.

Unfortunately for Dawkins the eagle-eyed police spotted him trying to get rid of the drugs and also managed to quickly catch up with him.

After arresting him, officers searched his flat and found more drugs, paraphernalia and hundreds of pounds of cash, which was subsequently confiscated.

Dawkins admitted possession with intent to supply at Kingston Crown Court on November 5. He was jailed for three years and nine months at the same court on November 8.

Detective Constable Amanda Keeley, from Wandsworth Borough CID, said: "This conviction and forfeiture shows criminals that not only do they face a jail term, but they will have their ill gotten gains taken from them.

"We will continue to target those who benefit from other peoples’ misery."

Dawkins would have been jailed for five years but his guilty plea meant the judge reduced his sentence by 25 per cent.
