Snow causing travel chaos in south west London and Surrey
8:48am Wednesday 5th December 2012 in News
Mulgrave Road in Sutton is coated in snow this morning
Sleet and snow have caused major disruption to road and rail journeys this morning.
Severe weather warnings have been issued across south west London and Surrey.
The Met Office is reporting the risk of icy patches as rain clears south this morning with possible accumulations of snow in places.
There are delays of up to 30 minutes on several Southern and South West train services and trains are not calling at certain stations along several routes. It is advised to check before you travel.
Sunshine will develop this afternoon but it will remain cold with maximum temperatures of five degrees.
Tonight will see mostly clear skies allowing a sharp frost to form so beware of ice on the roads as the mercury falls to around four degrees.
