Pop-up clinics to help people quit smoking
Smokers who have made a new year's resolution to quit can get help at pop-up clinics.
Throughout January and February there will be stop smoking drop-in clinics at Asda stores, in Lavender Hill, Battersea and Roehampton Vale, Roehampton.
There are 20 per cent of people who smoke in Wandsworth and 70 per cent of those want to stop.
Research has shown smokers are four times more likely to quit if they use medication and a stop smoking service.
The public health department, which is now based in the Town Hall, are making it their priority to encourage people to quit the habit.
Wandsworth Council is implementing a five year tobacco control plan, which includes enforcement action against retailers selling to children and practical support.
