Campaign group Wandsworth Against Cuts (WAC) are holding a family fun day to commemorate the imminent demise of Battersea Park Adventure Playground.
The playground is set to be demolished next week and protesters have decided to hold a community day to mark the end of an era for families in the surrounding area.
Visitors are being encouraged to bring photographic family memories of the playground plus activities of their own such as frisbees, balls, skipping ropes and kites.
A spokesman for WAC said: "We have tried repeatedly to engage with the council and have offered alternatives to their plans, but to no avail.
"There is still much public opposition to the council's plans, despite the continuous spin that they pump out."
The fun day will begin midday today on the grass at the front of the adventure playground.
