A bank customer had a gun held to their head during an attempted robbery of bank in Tooting.

Police were called to the Bank of Baroda on Upper Tooting Road at 2.40pm yesterday following reports of an attempted robbery.

Officers attended and established a black male aged approximately 20-years-old had entered the bank and demanded to be let through an internal security door.

He threatened a member of the public but left the bank shortly after when the alarm was raised.

No cash was taken and no-one was injured.

Officers from the Flying Squad at Barnes are investigating and no arrests have been made.
