Wandsworth Council to hold "celebration" for Olympic volunteers Wandsworth Council to hold "celebration" for Olympic volunteers

Residents who volunteered for the Olympics are urged to get in touch with Wandsworth Council for a special celebration.

The local authority wants to throw a celebration for local volunteers to thank them for their hard work in making London 2012 such a success.

The Mayor of Wandsworth, Cllr Adrian Knowles, said: "Last summer's games were a spectacular success, and the thousands of volunteers who helped out were a large part of that.

"The Olympics showed how much potential there is to harness people's skills and enthusiasm and bring them together for the common good.

"We want to show Wandsworth's volunteers that we appreciate their efforts."

If you would like an invitation to the celebration, email crenee@wandsworth.gov.uk or call 020 8871 6529 with details of your name, contact details and a few words about your voluntary Olympic role.

I was a volunteer but, sorry, I have no interest in this. It's over. Let it go. It's 2013. Move on.
