Helicopter hits crane in Vauxhall

Fire crews from across the borough have been called to a helicopter crash in the Vauxhall area.

It is believed the helicopter crashed into a crane in the Nine Elms area.

Police were first called to the scene at about 8am this morning and around 20 fire engines currently at the scene including crews from Wandsworth and Battersea fire station. 

Vauxhall Bridge southbound, Harleyford Road westbound at the junction with Kennington Lane, South Lambeth Road northbound at the junction with Miles Street and Nine Elms Lane eastbound at the junction with Ponton Road are all closed.
